Panastics Gymnast: 1989-1999
Beam was my favorite apparatus; it seemed to come more naturally to me than the others. Floor was a close second favorite; I really enjoyed tumbling!
Best Award Won:
I did compete for many years. I liked the challenge of accomplishing new skills and moving up to the new levels. It took me a while; I usually had to spend 2 years in each level before I could move up to the next level. I won many ribbons, trophies, and awards throughout the years; however, I don’t remember the awards as much as I remember the fun I had traveling and competing with friends and family. I was blessed to have parents that took me to many competitions and always cheered me on, no matter the outcome. I remember those days fondly (good times and bad) and think it helped shaped me into the person I am today.
While I was living in Orlando, I loved going to Disney World theme parks as often as possible, and I had an incredible opportunity to learn the art of Country Ballroom dancing. I spent a lot of my free time competing at Country Ballroom competitions and social dancing for fun and exercise.
Where Is She Now?
I recently moved back to Panama City in July of 2020 for family reasons. The Corona Virus has taken a toll on many people, and I decided it was time to move back home to be with my family. It has been very nice to be home spending time with friends and family. I have wonderful job working at Perry & Young Law firm as a paralegal in the downtown Panama City Office, and I continue to dance as often as possible.
Advice to Gymnasts Today:
I would tell gymnasts today to work hard, believe in themselves, and never give up! If it is something you love, it all pays off in the end. Gymnastics will teach you many life skills that you will find useful throughout your whole life. And most of all, don’t be too hard on yourself, HAVE FUN!! 😊 😊
